Better implementation of the GDPR (CepPolicyBrief to communication COM(2019) 374)
cepPolicyBrief
In cep's view, it is appropriate that the Commission will continue to support the implementation and uniform application of the GDPR in order to avoid legal uncertainty and distortions of competition. In particular, the practices of the independent national data protection authorities (DPAs) to issue sanctions should be harmonised in order to minimise variations in the enforcement of the GDPR. In addition, codes of conduct and certifications must be made usable and transfer instruments must be brought into line with the GDPR in order to facilitate compliance with the GDPR and data transfer to third countries.
