The so-called Mattei Plan is named after the founding president of the Italian energy company ENI, Enrico Mattei. In addition to energy supply, it also includes combating irregular migration flows and expanding the infrastructure of the Italian agricultural and food industry. For Italy, it is a key pillar of the current G7 presidency. In Africa itself, environmentally friendly investments are to be made and institutional capacities expanded.
