EU gas supply rules have been comprehensively reformed over the last three years. The cep has assessed the reform in an input.

From the cep's perspective, non-discriminatory access to gas pipelines and other gas infrastructures in the EU has increased competition among gas suppliers, lowered prices and increased security of supply. However, there is no economic justification for extending the EU's internal gas market requirements to pure import pipelines. It is not clear why these should have a negative impact on competition in the internal gas market or on security of gas supply in the EU.
