European Electronic Health Record Exchange Format
In the EU, a voluntary exchange format for electronic health records should facilitate cross-border healthcare. The EU Commission has drawn up a recommendation to this end.

From cep's point of view, the European exchange format strengthens the fundamental freedoms of EU citizens in the area of cross-border healthcare by providing data in the respective national language. It can also support the introduction of interoperable electronic health records at national level. It does not restrict the Member States' protected room for manoeuvre in their organisation of health care.
