Responsible body: Stiftung Ordnungspolitik

The Stiftung Ordnungspolitik supports the principles of a free, democratic, market-based system in Germany, Europe and the rest of the world.

It endeavours to foster and develop the ordoliberal tradition of the Freiburg school as founded by Walter Eucken, further expounded by Friedrich August von Hayek and turned into policy by Ludwig Erhard.

Using the academic advancement of ordoliberalism as a basis, the Stiftung formulates workable policy options and brings the importance of ordoliberal thought into the public consciousness.

cep | Centrum für Europäische Politik performs the same task with regard to European policy.

Together, the Stiftung Ordnungspolitik and the cep organise public events, particularly the Lectures on Europe and the Background Talks.

The Stiftung Ordnungspolitik fulfils the requirements of a non-profit-making organisation which require it to be independent of vested interests and party-politically neutral. It is financed by the income from its endowment and by donations from the civil society, as well as by income from surveys, such as those carried out for the European Parliament, in which cep is officially accredited as an independent academic think tank.
