"US and Europe have unified goals for digital economy"

US Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker says she came away "optimistic" from her talks in Brussels on Europe's digital single market strategy

US Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker wrote in an opinion piece for EurActiv that “American government and industry are watching the development of specific policies under the Digital Single Market – in areas such as Internet platforms, copyrights, and privacy – to ensure that their effects will encourage stronger commercial ties between the US and Europe.” Pritzker last week spoke with EU government and business leaders in Brussels about policies, regulatory frameworks, and key initiatives related to the digital economy. “Concerns certainly remain, but I came away from my visit optimistic and reminded that the United States and Europe have unified goals for our engagement in the digital economy,” she wrote.
