Tusk stays on as European Council President

The European Council re-elected Donald Tusk as its president for a second term of two and a half years.

Without the consent of his home country Poland, Donald Tusk will be able to serve as President of the European Council. At the first summit in March, a majority of the EU leaders confirmed him in office. They also discussed the policy areas: jobs, growth and competitiveness; Security and defense; Migration; The West Balkans and the European Public Prosecutor.
