Negotiations about a third bailout for Greece said to kick off Friday in Athens

cep economist Bert Van Roosebeke tells Germany's national radio Deutschlandfunk: We will see whether the creditors will be able to reach an agreement with Greece on a much broader and much more detailed program

Representatives of Greece's creditor institutions will travel to Athens on Friday to hold formal negotiations on a new bailout for the indebted country, dpa reported. The news agency cited a Greek government official as saying that negotiators hoped to complete the bailout memorandum by August 18.

The Greek parliament had cleared the way for the talks after passing a second reform program early Thursday morning. “It will get really interesting from Friday. Then we will see whether the creditors will be able to reach an agreement with Greece on a much broader and more detailed program,” cep economist Bert Van Roosebeke told Germany’s national radio Deutschlandfunk in an interview.
