EU Commission's border protection proposal seen running into resistance

The EU Commission will set out a plan on Tuesday to reinforce the European border protection agency Frontex with up to six times more staff, EurActiv reported citing EU officials. Yet, the proposal to give the EU Commission the power to send forces unbidden into member states to defend the common European frontier will face resistance from some countries, EurActiv said.
