Cameron to allow ministers to campaign for and against EU membership

Ministers will be given this freedom after Prime Minister has completed his renegotiation of Britain’s EU membership terms with other EU leaders, Channel 4 News reported

British Prime Minister David Cameron will allow his cabinet ministers to campaign for and against EU membership in the build-up to the in/out referendum, Channel 4 News reported. They will be given this freedom after Cameron has completed his renegotiation of Britain’s EU membership terms with other EU leaders. The cep believes that Cameron will not be able to push through major reform changes in his negotiations with the leaders of the other EU member states.

The parliamentary group leader of the European People's Party (EPP), Manfred Weber, told Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung last month that “we want to help (British Prime Minister David) Cameron but we don't want a British Europe, we want a better Europe.” EPP party leader Joseph Daul recently said: “We want Britain to remain in the European Union, but we cannot accept it at any price. That's very clear.”
