Action plan and first meaures for the Capital Markets Union

cep supports plan to establish a Capital Markets Union

The EU Commission has presented its long announced Action plan to establish a Capital Makets Union. It doing so, the Commission also laid down legislative steps to revive the European markets for securitizations. A new label for simple, transparent and standardized securitizations shall be established. Additionally the Commission presented three consultations. Topics of these consultations are the establishment of an EU Framework for Covered Bonds, a review of the regulations on European Social Entrepreneurship Funds (EuSEF) and European Venture Capital Funds (EuVECA) and a general evaluation of European Financial Markets Regulation.

In spring 2015, cep has already given support for establishing a Capital Markets Union in a cepPolicyBrief.
