The European Central Bank will buy government bonds from this March until the end of September 2016, ECB President Mario Draghi announced Thursday in Frankfurt. cep expert Bert Van Roosebeke believes the central bank is going down the wrong path with its decision. “The ECB risks creating bubbles on financial markets and slowing reform efforts in eurozone member states,” Van Roosebeke argued. “Moreover, today’s decision means a breach of the prohibition of monetary state financing.”
