cepAnalysis EU Energy Policy

With the Lisbon Treaty entering into force, the European Union gained comprehensive powers regarding EU energy policy. Now, the Commission has announced far-reaching proposals for a future EU energy strategy.

Against this backdrop, the CEP has drawn up an analysis of the key issues in energy along with a recommendation for action focussing on the questions: Which targets should be set and what are the ordoliberal pathways leading to such targets? Central challenged to be envisaged are created through the implementation of the EU internal energy market, the promotion of renewable energies and the expansion of the required net infrastructure.
