cep argues in a new dossier that the chances for changes to the EU treaty ahead of Britain's in/out referendum are slim

Cameron calls for changes to EU treaty

British Prime Minister David Cameron on Monday met EU commission president Jean-Claude Juncker at the start of a week-long diplomatic offensive to renegotiate the terms of the UK’s EU membership. At their meeting in Chequers, Cameron told Juncker that the British people were not happy with the status quo in Europe. According to a Britsh government spokesman, Juncker reiterated that he wanted to find a fair deal for the UK. Cameron will meet this week, amongst others, also German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande. The cep argues in a new dossier that it is unlikely that a new EU treaty would be ratified in the 28 EU member states in time for Britain to hold its planned in/out referendum.
